The Central Valley is about 40 miles long by 15 miles wide and includes the towns of Heredia, Alajuela, Escazu, Cartago, Santa Ana, Tres Rios. The weather is very similar to San Jose in that temperatures are usually never lower than 60 and never higher than 80. These towns are smaller versions of San Jose but more laid back. This area also is used by many tourists as a base to tour the surrounding areas in the day yet return to the night life of San Jose.
