The Northern Zone is especially interesting for the active volcanoes and mountains and the roads are not great. However, what may be the most fantastic example of a cloud forest in the world exists here. The towns are for the most part very small. The mineral hot springs are something that you should not miss as well as the opportunity to see a live lava flow or daily eruptions of Arenal Volcano. |
